Qualifications:

Tim Hughes & Associates was founded in 1997, and we are a network of experienced researchers and consultants based throughout the British Isles. The quality of our service is reflected in our organisation's membership of the Guild of Master Craftsmen.

Tim Hughes, the proprietor of the business, has over ten years experience in the fields of genealogy and historical research, and is a member of the Association of Genealogists and Researchers in Archives (AGRA).

Services:

Tim Hughes & Associates specialise in two types of service, although these often overlap.

Firstly, we offer a full genealogical research service in the UK and Ireland. We have easy access to central London and therefore regularly visit the Family Records Centre and Society of Genealogists. Additionally, our network of researchers ensures that, when necessary, we can access records held locally throughout the British Isles.

Our other speciality is historical research, particularly among the documents preserved at the National Archives in Kew. We research records regarding individuals who served with the army, Royal Navy, air force, and merchant navy.

Fees:

As each individual research project can vary in terms of scope and complexity, we do not quote a single hourly rate, but prefer to price each commission individually.

For many services we can quote a fixed inclusive fee. On other occasions, we agree a budget limit in advance and make as much progress as possible within that limit.
