Sue Bruce started researching her own family history in 1996 - and it quickly became a passion. In 2002 she opened her own company, Rootz Genealogy, and began working with clients both nationally and internationally.
In 3 short years, Rootz Genealogy has become a recognized name in professional genealogy. Sue has written for several magazines, including Womans World Magazine, Family History Magazine and the San Jose Mercury News, California. She also served two years as researcher for the Los Gatos History Museum in Los Gatos, California; specializing in death records and cemetery research.
Our specialties include American and British genealogy, California Research, Los Gatos Records, and funeral/cemetery records in general. Additional services include searching for, and photographing, tombstones in Massachusetts and other parts of New England. Rootz Genealogy is proud to offer a high-tech solution to genealogy, with scanning, CD, digital photography and large format & color printing services. We also offer authoring services, with book design and binding.
All new projects are subject to an initial evaluation at a set fee of $300 payable in advance. This process allows up to 10 hours of research with existing data, which often reveals new family members and interesting facts. Following completion, a series of next steps are presented with quotations. (Basic research rate $30 / hour; expenses are always extra.)
Rootz Genealogy offers research contracts - now accepting 3 and 6 month contracts.
We accept PayPal, checks* and money orders. * Personal checks require extra clearance time.
Rootz Genealogy are members in good-standing of the Association of Professional Genealogists (www.apgen.org) and GenealogyPro (www.genealogypro.com). Sue is also a NARA approved researcher. Disclaimer: We do not offer any research guarantees. We charge only for researching time, not results. Genealogical records/archives are notorious for being incomplete, inaccurate and absent.
