Qualifications

I worked for the North Carolina Division of Archives and History for four years, and have conducted genealogical and historical research in all fifty states for over 20 years. I was appointed to, and served on the Wake County Historic Preservation Commission as representative of Historic Oakwood, Raleigh, North Carolina's largest Historic District for five years. I earned a B.A. in History, Magna Cum Laude, in the Honors Program at North Carolina State University in 1992. Academic honors include the 1992 NCSU Research Symposium Paper Prize and the NCSU History Department Class of 1992 Paper Prize. I recently collaborated on the newly updated Historic Oakwood Walking Tour Guide, providing fresh research for over 200 properties in this National Register Historic District. .

Services

Genealogical, real estate and property research for North Carolina and Virginia. I live a short distance from the North Carolina Archives, and have access to the Virginia Archives at Richmond along with other repositories. My expertise in the fields of Colonial, Antebellum, Victorian and 20th-century genealogy, African American Genealogy both post-and pre-1865, and historic property history can be attested to by hundreds of clients past and present. Locating information about NC and VA Civil and Revolutionary War veterans is a specialty.

Fees

My fees are reasonable, quite low considering the quality of my work. I am dedicated to achieving the best return possible for every client. In addition, if I don't find any information I do not charge a client for my time. Count on me to take a personal interest in your project, and to give your family history and historical interests the same attention I would give my own.
