- The National Library of Scotland - Rare Manuscripts Department - papers of landowners, letters, individual documents, genealogical collections. (for list of manuscript holdings see www.nls.uk)
- New Register House (GROS) - civil registers of births, marriages and deaths, census returns and parish registers of the Church of Scotland
Specialist Services:
- Can transcribe older documents, including testaments (wills), as available on www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk; also letters, diaries etc.
- Can trace histories of properties (land) and houses (where possible).
